The Board led by the Chairman of the Hospitals’ Management Board Dr. Niran Okunrinboye embarked on an impromptu monitoring activity to Ondo to get accurate information concerning the general operations of the facility and to inquire about the dedications to work and punctuality of the doctors and nurses.
VISITATION/INSPECTION OF THE HOSPITAL
The Board together with the pressmen visited the facility on Wednesday 20th January,2016. On arrival, the hospital’s CMD and Secretary welcomed the Board at about 8:00am. The Chairman ordered the CMD to lock up the gates so as to know those who were punctual and those who were late to work. The Chairman informed them of its mission, which was to monitor the facility in terms of taking records of workers who were supposed to be on duty and weren’t; checking the environment to know how conducive it was for patients and inquiring about their financial status. The Board thereafter went round the facility and visited the nursing section, consulting rooms, theatre, female, male wards and children out patient wards. Important issues concerning punctuality, medical supplies and revenue were raised. It was observed at the surgical out-patient department that some patients were yet to be attended to and the Board wasn’t impressed with this. They were therefore advised to paste their schedule of duties so that patients can all be seated at the time slated for them instead of waiting for long hours before the health talk begins.
